Swarm Collection

During the “bee-season” we get calls and enquires from the public who have come across a swarm of bees.

While they can look and sound concerning, swarms of honeybees (apis mellifera) are not aggressive and in fact very calm. The swarm is simply trying to find a new home. Our beekeepers can come to safely collect and rehome the swarm.

There are over 250 species of bee in the UK so please take a look at the BBKA “what bee is this” guide before getting in contact.

For swarm removal and collections, our Swarm Liaison Officer is Patrick Mansfield, but in his temporary absence, please contact Mark Grieves on 07890267737 or use the BBKA “find a local swarm collector” function to find someone near you.
